OUR MISSION

The Queens School of Jazz and Contemporary Music is located on the campus of Promise Christian Academy and was founded on a vision to heal and revitalize the community through the pursuit of excellence in music.  This is achieved by bringing Queens, for the first time, affordable access to the jazz arts, whether on stage performing in one of our big bands or combos, or in the classroom learning one of our jazz history, theory, or listening classes.  Our Artistic Director is one of few remaining jazz musicians teaching what will soon be the "lost art" of jazz mentoring - a non conservatory approach to mastering music.  Because jazz music is most relevant to life in America, we mentor each and every student to express themselves to their fullest potential in every circumstance through music.
