Private lessons are highly encouraged, starting from age 5.  Understanding and playing scales and chords and reading music are fundamental to any student's understanding of the patterns that make up the vocabulary of music.  This understanding leads to improvisational expression from experiencing life.  ​

NYSSMA coaches are also available to help students get perfect scores on all NYSMMA testing levels, 1-6.  We can help identify the appropriate level and song selection for any student and properly coach them through sight reading and scale studies.  We can also provide professional accompanists to play on the day of NYSSMA testing.
